Looking for a good meat processor

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Wanted to know who you would recommend in the flagstaff area for a good meat processor for elk. Have the late rifle hunt coming up and if lucky enough to put a bull on the ground would like to know where to get it processed. Also looking for a good taxidermist just in case. Thanks in advance for any advice and good luck to all on their hunts.

BEST meat processor......walk to your kitchen look at the knife block or the knife drawer.....there you have it the best meat processors in the state without question. why? you know exactly how long it is aged(hung at 40 degrees F, up to 30 days if you pay attention), you know it didn't hang laying against someone else's elk that maybe did take as good of care to keep it clean, you know exactly what it looked like as it is being cut up, you know exactly how much waste there is, you can remove all the sinew and fat if you like, you can package it exactly like you need, you can custom mix the burger (pork shoulder at 20% is a starting place), you can basically make the best darn meat on the planet. As good as any meat processor might be they will never care for your meat as well as you can.

There are two meat processors that are sponsors of this site and are very good. I always encourage members to give your business to sponsors since they keep this site up and running!

Jeremy Browning runs Browning's Custom Meats in Payson and he gives 10% off to CouesWhitetail.com members....it's best to show up in a CouesWhitetail.com hat, tshirt or have a CW sticker on your car to help get the discount. Jeremy doesn't have a website, but you can call him at 928-978-3512.

There is Mike Miller of Miller's Southwestern Processing in Queen Creek that is really good. Check out his website:
