Airbusdriver Report post Posted October 24, 2012 I'm heading down to 36B on Saturday, and was wondering when the rut begins down in the southern units. If I'm not mistaken, the rut begins up north more towards the middle of November, but not familiar with the south. Any comments?
double lunger14 Report post Posted October 24, 2012 All depends on Weather... It needs to get cold to throw some does in heat. For mulleys I think towards the end of December when the ruts going good and for whitetails mid January. I could be wrong but this is what I've seen the last few years. reganranch Report post Posted October 24, 2012 Double Lunger is pretty accurate on that statement. If an individual has a December rifle tag, an opportunity to see the most deer will be the snowstorms( Animals cant hide after a whiteout has settled) in S. Az, and the last four days of the hunt 28th-31st.
