cramerhunts Report post Posted August 2, 2006 More D, The broadheads aren't bad for the price (19.99 for six) and they shot really close to the same as the thunder heads that I normally shoot. The spin seems to be good but I have a slight problem with them planing or rising on the shorter distances, a few more practice and tuning sessions and I think they will be well worth the money. BASS Report post Posted August 3, 2006 I went to Cabelas Monday, and I think it's a neat store. I had to stand and listen to the robot near the Muley deer area though. I really like the mounts they have there, and the lay out is nice. I plan on going back in a week or two when I have some cash.
mikep35 Report post Posted August 12, 2006 I've been 4 times since it opened. I always seem to be in the area since I work all over the valley. Sometimes I just pop in for lunch! nothing like venison brat and fries before heading back to work!
Chef Report post Posted August 13, 2006 Yup, the Bison bratwurst is good as are the battered fries! Wish they were more like other Cabelas with better restaurants. Some have a steakhouse/bar in them. A "singles night" would be good in one of those!
BowNut Report post Posted August 14, 2006 Went there the Fri. they opened kinda cool I thought. One of the guys I went with got some great pictures. But for some reason he only took one of a coues. He is an eastern whitetail hunter and does not care to hunt our tiny coues witch is fine by me.

az4life Report post Posted August 14, 2006 I was there on Saturday for another few hours. Had dinner too and got out with most of my wallet again! I see new stuff every time I go back. I am running out of notepads though, filling out my wish lists! It was very busy when I got there around 2:30 but after the Steeler / Cards Game was over and the various football jersey'd fans started flowing through the aisles, it seemed to clear out fairly quickly. Parking lot was 30% empty when I left. Next weekend is the Grand opening I think. Overflow parking at the cards stadium and I am sure it will be a packed store! Good Luck to a ny of y'all that try to go.
ghost hunter Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Been there....Done that......left disappointed! Got up and left early this AM...drove 225 miles one way...hit the door with several years worth of accumulated bonus points and a long list of things to spend them on. An Elk deli sandwich and an hour and a half later, I got to the check-out with only 2 items, neither of which were on my list. Grand total: $12.67. I didn't know whether to laugh or be insulted when they asked if "I wanted to use my points for that". To be honest, they did have just a handful of the small items I wanted but couldnt see buying them and having to order the rest anyway. Not sure if my expectations were too high, or maybe I'm just hard to impress, or maybe all the Grand Opening hype was just that... Guess I'll just have to order out of the catalog like I was gonna do in the first place. The displays were neat though..

BASS Report post Posted September 25, 2006 I thought Sportsman's has way more stuff. I'm going to stick w/ it. M. +1, since there is one only twenty minutes away that is going to stay my main store for a while. I keep driving by Bass Pro Shops location where they are breaking ground, and it doesn't look very big at all.
peckl1 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Since I was in central Texas this week I had a chance to stop by the store in Buda. The things people have said about the differrence in Glendale and Buda are True!!!! The mounts look a lot better and the staff is real friendly and helpful. What a difference. I would recommend stopping in if you ever get the chance. Lee
DUG Report post Posted September 29, 2006 I've been there about 7 times now. My wife thinks I live there. Dropped about a grand so far, but I 'needed' all that stuff. No doubt they are pricey but they have good stuff. Any of you elkhunters hunting the cedars should look at the Advantage max 1 camo and the seclusion 3D open country. Cabelas has it and I thought it blended in very well. DUG
