ready2hunt Report post Posted October 18, 2012 I will be the first one to admit that often times I am VERY critical of decision that Game and Fish make HOWEVER I would like to take a moment to thank Game and Fish (I am sending a thank you directly to them as well). My little cousin has been on her jr. hunt for almost a week in 6A and is feeling pretty down. I got on the phone with her mother yesterday and this is a story they told me. They have been traveling in and out of different areas of the unit trying to connect with a cow. They have had some shots but all missed thus far. While eating lunch yesterday they were approached by a Game and Fish rep. Instead of doing the norm. (checking licenses first etc) this gentleman gave nothing but advice and words of encouragment to my cousin. Further more he informed them that a group of PETA members have been driving the area and (from what some property owners are telling them) everytime these PETA members see elk/deer they fire guns in an effort to scare off the animals so hunters can not find them. (I personally have never heard of that before....perhaps others here have). The Game and Fish Rep. said that if they are caught violating laws that they will be ticketed as this is dangerous and ruining the jr. for new hunters liker herself. Thank to Game and Fish Rep. not only being pro-active but for your words of encourgement. My little cuz felt much better after having spoken with you and the impression you gave them was certainly one that they were impressed by. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

YoungHuntr Report post Posted October 18, 2012 I heard a true story of some PETA member/ animals rights activists that were attempting to scare all the gamw away in an area. They scared two deer right into the path of two hunters who had not been having much luck. Two shots later they yelled out a thank you to the PETA members for helping them get their deer. The response? A scowl and some curses. I don't imagine they were too pleased. I always like that story. The game warden In our hunting area in 32 is always very friendly. He does check us, but he gives us advice on where to go and what to look for to get on the deer that seem to be in differnet spots every year. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

POB Report post Posted October 18, 2012 I seem to remember a story in the Tucson paper many years ago about some anti's in the Catalina's, that pushed a big desert ram around the mountain right to the hunter. sidwynder505 Report post Posted October 18, 2012 I just want to take the time and thank the Game & Fish as well!! on my up coming hunt i have in 31 & 32 for sheep! alot of people think im crazy for tryin to do it with out a guide!! but after talking with the area W/M! Devin.Ben an john! they have went up an beyond the call of duty!! the advise the maps the histroy about the sheep!!....my hats off to those guys! i couldnt do it with out them!!! .....another thing those PETA people out there are not helping the animals they hurt them!! i wish i could grab those PETA people an make them help clean up our desert down south! or build a drip system out in the middle of now where to help the animals through the hot dry summer!! . could go on but you guys know where im heading!!! ...sorry for the rant! Eagle mountain ranch Report post Posted October 19, 2012 So my buddy calls me today to inform me that he and his son had arrived at camp for his youth elk hunt to find MY trailer with six bullet holes in it possibly 9mm and a couple of camps down had all four tires slashed on it.
