Mathews or Bowtech

Recommended Posts

I just got a Switchback XT. I shot Trykon, Allegiance and Tribute before deciding on the Switchback. I don't think you could go wrong with any of these. They were all about the same price.

Mathews for several reasons.

1. Resell is easier-holds value better

2. Harmonic damper technology-decreases vibration and kick

3. The mathews wooden handle fits my hand perfectly

4. Lifetime warranty- Mathews stand behind their bows.

Bowtec has some nice bows but they are typically less forgiving w/ a little more speed and definately more kick/vibration.

I shoot a Mathews LX, I previously shot a Q2XL then an SQ2. I love Mathews bows. A buddy of mine this past year was shooting a new Bowtech and I was impressed with how quietly it shot. I found one for sale used and am planning on picking it up as a backup bow. My advice would be Mathews but like others have said, you cant go wrong either way.

I shot most of the newer bows like Dug and decided on the XT. All new bows are nice, find one that shoots/feels better for you.

Bowtech-

I have an 05 justice and couldnt be happier, and plan on picking up the equalizer. both for me shot realy quiet. ( I also shoot a slightly hevier arrow. sacrificing a little speed for more kinetic energy) I have never shot a mathews ,obviously here and from any one I know that shoots them say they are great- it all boils down to fit and feel. if the bow fits you and feels right in your hands than thats the one you should invest your money in.

my .02 worth :D
