huntjunkie Report post Posted October 15, 2012 Anybody used Barnes LRX bullets? I'm thinking of trying them in my 7mm Remington Mag.
PRDATR Report post Posted October 16, 2012 I have used the 120gr X bullets but that about it.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted October 16, 2012 I dont think the LRX really caught on. I havent really researched them too much, but from what I remember they dont really offer too much that the TTSX doesnt. A little higher BC and A LOT higher price. I'd shoot the 140 TTSX instead of the LRX.

kwp Report post Posted October 16, 2012 The LRX are pretty much the same price as the TTSX. Casey is probably thinking of the MRX which are way more expensive. I don't have any first-hand experience with them but will be trying them in my .300 Win Mag although I probably won't get around to it until next spring. I have loaded some up and can tell you that you'll want to pay attention to magazine length. I had to load mine with a 0.07" jump in order to get them to fit in the magazine. The barnes bullets typically do well seated a ways off the lands and I think barnes recommends starting with 0.05" so I don't suspect it will be a problem. Let us know how they shoot if you try them! firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted October 19, 2012 You're right, I was thinking about the MRX. My fault! Like you mentioned, Barnes bullets do seem to like a jump. When I started reloading for my 257, the trick was to shorten the COAL to get more of a jump, and accuracy followed.
