JVS Report post Posted July 29, 2006 The deer rut later in the year here in AZ. The Coues will not rut until December, and on a warm year sometimes will not start until late dec early jan. Anyway, the rut isn't as helpful to a successful hunt as a good pair of optics and a bit of patience. Neither one come very cheap. Anyway, there are plenty of deer out there, you just need to know where to find them. I'd suggest anywhere above ~4,000 feet along the bases of the mountains. That is the short answer. Honestly, there are lots of deer just about anywhere up at that elevation. Try Stockton Pass. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
