rossislider Report post Posted October 2, 2012 My family and I made the 14 hour trek this weekend from Queen Creek, AZ to Idaho Falls, I'D. Tonight my cousins and I headed up for some brown fishing on the south fork of the Snake River near the Idaho/Wyoming border. It was a fantastic evening! I finished the evening with about 18 fish. Most in the 2-3 pound range. I was fortunate enough to get a couple 4 pounders (one of which is in the picture below) and a fat 6 pounder. Nothing like Idaho brown fishing! Flatlander Report post Posted October 2, 2012 I used to live right between the South Fork and the Henry's Fork. Miss being 10 min from 3 blue ribbon streams.

Apatkelley Report post Posted October 4, 2012 Looks like I've swapped spots with you. I move to Ammon last year and I'm still trying to get it all figured out here. I did get two backpack fishing trips in so far though. Upper pallisades first, not much luck and then another trip to Fishpole lake. The second trip was fantastic, we caught tons of cutthroats. Most weren't very big but it was a blast. I saw a truck in town the other day with a Sun Devils fork on the back window. Maybe that was your cousin??? Flatlander Report post Posted October 4, 2012 Ammon is a great spot, my in-laws live there. I went to school in Rexburg, actually I am interviewing for a job there this month. My wife's family are all ASU fans up there. The south fork is killer in the fall, enjoy it. What are you doing for elk?

Most, of my cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc live the Idaho Falls vicinity. My parents were born and raised there and moved my family down to AZ when I was 8. I try to take my own family up there each year for a week to visit family. It seems to be my wife and kids favorite place to vacation. If I were to ever leave AZ, Idaho would be my fist choice of places to move to. Beautiful area and a sportsman's paradise!
