muzzeloader bullet recomendations for elk

A friend of mine is going on his first elk hunt. We are wondering what everyone has had sucess with using for muzzleloader bullets on elk

What gun is he using? What powder?

 

I have used the Precision brand sabots in the pass with success but have recently switched to the hornandy SST low drags in a 250 gr. This is more than enought to kill an elk.

Wife just dropped an 800 lb bull in its tracks. a couple of days ago. Here are the stats

 

TC Encore Pro Hunter 50 cal, 28 inch barrel

120 grains of Blackhorn 209 powder

Barnes Spitfire TMZ .45 cal 290 grain sabot

No BS. The bull dropped in it's tracks. The all copper bullet expanded to about .80 of an inch. At the range it was holding 2 inch groups at 100 yards. I would be comfortable out to 250 yards with this setup.
