Heading out- 1st trip this fall

Recommended Posts

Lots of stories from local hikers, runners, and mountain bikers of some active critters lately... I decided I'm gonna drag out the call and guns tomorrow morning just to try and thin out the pack. Wish me luck!

Good luck Scooter, I wish we have the same temperatures some of you guys have over there....here is still 105 degrees and can't call for critters until late November :( Any way...aim for the vitals!

Who needs to call them when they walk out in front of you and stand there? LOL

First set, 7 minutes into the sequence I put a nice little grey fox on the ground at just a hair inside 75 yards with one of my .223 handloads... I chose to just call it a day after that.

It sure did... My truck said 48 degrees down in one of the canyons early- but when I got back to it, it was already almost 70 at 8am

It heated up quick- but it was chilly setting up, especially when you get wet pant legs from all the grass! Can't wait to try it this coming weekend again.

Heading out again tomorrow morning... I will probably try to get into more of the fawn bleat sequences in hopes of drawing in a lion.

Went to a spot that was historically good and didn't get any to come in. My home made E-caller wasn't working so I had to use the Flextone Mimic. Got a whole bunch of 'yotes worked up but they were really far away and not interested in closing the gap.
