Are they starting to quiet down?

Up in 6A and I've been in bulls every morning and evening but they seem to be quieting down to almost no calling. Anybody else seeing/hearing the same or have the resident bulls just packed up and left the area?

Probably moved a bit, pretty active when you get around them.

Hearing complaints in 27 that in lots of areas the bugling stops by about 8 and doesn't start again before dark. Seems to vary by location.

Same in 3C. They'll be really hot in an area one day, almost nothing there the next. They seem to really be on the move, but they do come back. Some of the biggest bulls are still hanging together. I'm hearing about big herds with small herd bulls, and groups of bachelor bulls (the big guys) running together.

Any info on 11m, I will be helping a friend next weekend and just wondering on the vocals.

I think the rut will be going pretty good by the 26th in 11m. If you have the second hunt, it will be a lot of fun this year. I watched a couple bulls fight Saturday morning twice and saw a few parallel each other for over a mile this morning. David

Anyone heard any info from 18a? Wife has the rifle starting October 5. Will the rut be completely done by then?

i was up in 3c calling for a guy for 4 days the bulls did quiet down saturday moe

rning when it was a bit cooler and cloudy,they are on a 2 day cycle it seems but i was hunting around aripine and the bulls were goin north in the morning bot 3am and goin south crossing the highway later in the day there are some monster bulls in that area we were in another part of the unit thurs and friday and my friend passed 18 to 35 yard shots on 340ish bulls i am goin back tuesday till the end it will be fired up in the next 2 days....good luck .

It probably is just due to the increased weekend pressure. Witnessed the same thing up in 4b.

+1 ...i've noticed in the past that they quiet down with more hunting pressure.

On the west side of 6A i couldn't hear them at all in camp, but a mile and a half behind our camps they were screaming their heads off all weekend. One wouldn't shut up all morning until about ten, and would start back up around three well past dark. The "herd" bulls aren't the big guys yet, and we were still seeing the big guys running solo.

I'll bet with the cold snap this week we'll see a big more action...its just been pretty warm. here's hoping!

Hunted really hard around 17A & 18B and it was really quite. To be honest I'm not sure if the rut has kick in this these lower units. But the again the herd population isn't like up north.
