AZHUNTER05 Report post Posted September 18, 2012 I headed up to camp two days before the hunt to do some scouting. It looked real promising at first i had four nice bulls with in a 1000 yard radius of my camp, along with a bull that was probably 350+. Opening morning i headed out and started chasing bugles in the dark. I finally caught up to some bulls and some other hunters scared them off by bugling every five minutes! After the morning hunt, i decided to sit in my blind where i saw the 350 bull pass two nights in a row. I got settled into my blind and not a hour later some campers set up camp, and started playing there music so loud, i could hear the words from over a mile away! They stayed all the way until Sunday morning and never turned off there music. Sunday morning i decided to try a new spot. I parked my truck and rolled down the windows to listen for some bugles. Not less then five minutes later, i hear a bull screaming behind me. I got out of my truck quietly followed the bugle. I got with in 50 yards of the bull, and hid behind a juniper and got ready. After patiently waiting for the bull to walk out behind the juniper, the cows winded me and took off. I didn't feel they spooked to bad, so i decided to try cut them off. As i was trying to locate the heard i just got busted by, i located my bull walking towards me at 51 yards. I quickly sat down, and the bull looked right at me. I sat real still and it kept coming my way! He then turned broadside at 51 yards giving me a shot. I drew back settled my pin and sent a two blade rage right behind his front shoulder! The bull took off, and crashed less then 70 yards from where i shot him. The arrow passed right through his heart! It's not the biggest bull he is my first spot and stalk bull so i am happy with him. To top it off my wife was able to camp with me this year and experience the hunt. She was a trooper considering she is 7 months pregnant with our first child! Thanks for reading and good luck on you're up coming hunts!

trophyhnter Report post Posted September 19, 2012 Great bull and great timing on your hunt! Children, especially newborns, change your life. It was the happiest, most tiring time of your life! My youngest was born a week before the october openner last year. I wanted to see him everyday and did not want to leave him! Now I cannot wait until he has his first tag and we are out hunting!
