mr.smith Report post Posted September 18, 2012 Some of it may be poorly worded when taken out of context but it sure enough is the truth. 47% of Americans do not pay income tax. Most of those 47% do receive tax refunds each year through tax credits. Thus they are dependent on the government for part of their annual income. Mitt is spot on and the truth hurts. ready2hunt Report post Posted September 18, 2012 I like the fact that he is standing my his comments and not trying to back track. To many people and just sucking on govt. life lines both at the state and federal level. Its media like NBC, Yahoo and CNN that week it to appear worse than what it is, its all media manipulation. Everyone is freaking out because he called people out on being lazy....people should actually be freaking out by the fact that 47% of the country does not pay taxes or contribute to society. OpticNerd Report post Posted September 18, 2012 I watched the video and can't believe the stink that is being made over this. The whole PC crap has gotten way out of hand in this country. In my mind this just encourages me to vote for Mitt even more. I'm pretty sure if you had a sneaky hidden camera that fallowed Obama around catching his every word you'd be getting some good ones from him as well.
rossislider Report post Posted September 18, 2012 Not only should Mitt continue to stand by his comments but he needs to push them harder and really call the left out on it. Americans would be more shocked to know that his comments were true. Not that the media would allow that to happen.
Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted September 18, 2012 Pretty common for the politicians to insert foot in mouth........usually shows true colors as opposed to scripted PC speeches. I'm OK if Romney gets it that half of this country is riding on the working half................and I hope he gets elected despite him speaking the truth about that matter. AverageJoe Report post Posted September 18, 2012 Why again do we need the 47% around who do not pay taxes or contribute to society in any way? Why do they get to vote? Glad i work and pay taxes to support so many lazy worthless obama voters.

azshtr Report post Posted September 18, 2012 It doesn't help when you need to overcome an obvious media propaganda machine called the news. The white house dictates news to media matters. Media Matters stories are picked up by most of the lame stream media news outlets. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/18/emails-show-justice-working-with-media-matters-to-target-critics/ And then of course the slanted writing... Romney "Middle income is 200K to 250K and less" What gets printed is "Middle income is 200K to 250K" to make him look out of touch.

Take Obama's open mic telling Russia's Putin that he would like to talk to him more after the election about shared goverment powers.....how much press did that get??? Why are not people outraged by this!? Sheep....all these liberal, socialist idots are just sheep.

stanley Report post Posted September 18, 2012 Yep, seems like politiions can't say a single thing without it being taken out of context or used as a 'sound bite'. '47% not paying income tax' or 'You didn't' build that....'. Either way, the media (liberal or conservative) is going to manipulate, exploit, twist, and do what ever can be done to spin it to the advantage of their side. Politics truly makes me sick. I agree that it is good he is sticking by his comments and doing his best to ensure folks understand the true message he was trying to convey. S.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted September 18, 2012 With that comment Romney's back is against the wall. Not because its incorrect, not because it was something he shouldn't have been said but because the fact of the matter is that it's TRUE! Added onto that the fact that those 47% will never vote for him simply because they would be worried about their free ride would come to an end! The sad part is there are so many brain washed sheep that I am really worried about where the vote will be.
6ANut Report post Posted September 18, 2012 This fact has been know for years and our goverment sits by and does nothing about these free loaders. We wonder why our economy is in the toilet. The new American dream is to have other hard working USA citizens pay for everything. Worst of all instead of just sitting around waiting to cash their wealfare checks, they have to pop out babies like they are rabbits so we can pay for those as well, AHHHH the Real American Dream. Such a joke.
JLW Report post Posted September 18, 2012 not all of the 47% are non working.... a lot of them do work but because of republican and democratic supported tax credits get more out than what they put in. FIX THE TAX CODE! James
