kuddos to Alpen Optics

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased an Aplen rifle scope from an online optics store. I recieved the scope, mounted it, bore sighted it and headed to the range. First shot was a little high, adjusted elevation appropriately, shot again and even higher. Hmmmm I thought well maybe I turned the elevation screw the wrong way. Readjusted back to where I was and shot again, good elavation but way left. Hmmmmm, maybe I pulled that one. No adjustment, shot again now high and right. WOW now thats not good. Target is at 100 yards shooting Premium ammunition through a 7mm-08 barrel on a T/C ProHunter frame. To make a long story short I removed the scope at the range, double checked all the Torx screws for tightness, remounted scope, re-tightened everything and went through a box of ammo with no change. Every shot was in a different place no matter the circumstance. Left me with only 1 conclusion, bad scope. I bought this scope based on good reviews, some here on CW as well as from others who had used them first hand. The other thing that sold me on them was the great customer service people talk of. Well guess I was gonna find out what their service was like first hand. With a quick phone call to the tech at Alpen and after relaying my story he gave me a return number and asked that I Fed Ex my scope to them. I gave it a week or so and gave them a call. Spoke with another gentlemen who looked up my work. He apologized and said that my scope had not yet been evaluated due to it being a busy time of year with hunting seasons going on. I told him that I understood, however I have a rifle elk hunt coming up in about a month here in NM and that I really needed to get my repair done so as to have a chance to sight in the rifle again. He said he understood and that he would put a rush on my account. This was last Friday the 14th of Sept. I called today just to see if there was any progress and the lady gave me a Fed Ex tracking number and told me that a brand new scope was sent out last Friday, the 14th of Sept. That was the same day I called to check up on things! Needless to say my scope is set for delivery either today or tomorrow and I will have plenty of time to get comfortable with it before elk season next month.

I cannot say enough about Alpen's No Faulty No Problem Warranty. Sure there is better glass out there, but for Alpen's reasonable prices, wide range product line, customer service and a warranty that covers repair or replacement of any of their items no matter what the cause FOR LIFE is tough if not nearly impossible to beat.

I have had a pair of Alpen apex 10X42 for about 5 years and they are still clear as the day I bought them. I just upgraded to some 12X mailed them a money order on Monday and the binos were on my front porch by friday. So I also have no complaints with Alpen as far as I can tell good company.
