huntjunkie Report post Posted September 12, 2012 Any body had bad luck with cold steel? Say.... like breaking. I love this knife. Had it for 5 years. Gutting my elk last week and..... snap! I had to skin, quarter, etc.. with a square knife.
123456 Report post Posted September 12, 2012 I have 2 cold steel knives, and love them. Pendleton huner and mini pendleton. Like any company, just need to get their higher end knives and they are great. Which one broke?
123456 Report post Posted September 12, 2012 Looks like a pendleton, nice thing about them is the high carbon content in the d2 steel. Downfall is, they do not bend, they snap.
huntjunkie Report post Posted September 12, 2012 Yes, it's the Pendleton hunter.
PRDATR Report post Posted September 14, 2012 I snapped off a Buck knife with the gut hook and found out that knives aren't pry bars. They perform best when slicing through soft tissue and don't work well to chop bone either. Look at the warranty info, it probably has a disclaimer about bending it. Some knives can do that but I thing when you approach the higher Rockwell Hardness ratings that becomes an issue.
