bigorange Report post Posted September 11, 2012 Maybe a fluke but hopefully a sign of good things ahead if not this year...probably beat ASU, no on PAC-12, no on big name bowl this year.
Pine Donkey Report post Posted September 11, 2012 Tough to imagine much bigger win than a blowout over a top 20 team. Also hard to imagine the same team a week earlier in overtime with Toledo! It was a great win and a great vote of confidence in Rich Rod, but that one is over. Now they need to avoid a division 1 AA tripup this week, then see what the really have against Oregon the next week. One good win does not a season make! String a few together, then you have a good season. As far as beating ASU, let's just let them play the game before we decide who is better. ASU has looked good so far his year also, although they have played two weak teams. I saw a lot of potential this past weekend especially in the defensive secondary. High school football on Friday nights, college football on Saturdays, the temperatures dropping, the leaves or changing and the elk are bugling! I love this time of year!
bonecollector Report post Posted September 11, 2012 Good win by the cats. Fluke maybe, maybe not. Wont beat ASU twice when they only play once a year! USC is far above the rest of the Pac12 but thats why they play the games to see who wins. Good weekend for football in the whole state of AZ, everybody won. BeardownAZ Report post Posted September 11, 2012 Too early to tell, but a move in the right direction. I'm just looking to see the program improve each week, I dont expect them to start winning alot in Rodriguez first year. I just dont see USC being the top though, not quite yet. I think Oregon is still more potent right but will see as the season goes on who has it.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted September 11, 2012 The problem (history has shown) is that U of A plays much better with little/no expectations. When they are ranked and NOT the underdog they seem to think other teams should fold to them and then their heads swell and they end up losing.

Rich Rod is a much smarter football mind than most coaches UA has ever had so maybe he can keep these things from happening. Hopefully keep there mind focused on the task at hand and not celebrating the previous weeks win still.
