Asking for citizenship is one thing......but asking to prove (show documentes) is totally different.

Ernesto C

Ernesto, please explain this comment

Yes for example. The story I posted above...The B.P agent asked my friend if he was a U.S. Citizen, he said yes. Then he asked me if I was a U.S. Citizen and I said yes Sir I am. Till here there is nothing wrong..but then he asked me, and only me, to prove to him that I was a U. S. Citizen which I had to show him my U. S. Passport.

So, why he only asked me for documents and not my friend? It was cause my friend is blonde and blue eyes? Why he treated me different than him? That's why I said....asking for citizenship is one thing and asking to prove or show documents is different.

At the port of entrys....not everybody is asked to prove that they are U. S. Citizens only some, why? They ask some if they are U. S. citizens but they dont have to prove it....why?

Why when I drive the Sasabe road and if a B. P. sees me they follow me and stop me?

Now please dont get me wrong....I'm not against getting all the illegals out of the U.S. Also it does not botther me anymore when Border Patrol or U.S. Customs give me a hard time at the border or in the check points. Their are doing their jobs and I understand that and I know the answers to the questios I have asked; and to some of them.....I am more american than them!

If we do not want Illegals here in AZ.....why we keep hiring them? Come with me and I will take you to some companies that I know here right in our faces....you will not eat any more fruits and vegetables my friend.......fields will go to waste.....and nobody will pick up cantaloupes for $7.75 dollars and hour and work for 12 to 14 hours a day with no overtime pay . You'll see this people working in Chemical plants with no safety equipment or any protection at all and with no training .................well I'm getting off the subject here :) but I hope I answered your questions :) Remember....hate the game not the player...I did not let them in :) God bless.

American business is just as much to blame for exploiting illegal labor, it drives down fair wages. I don't blame or hate anyone for wanting to come to America for a better life, I just don't like some of the things that they bring along. Rules and procedure need to be followed.

I Agree!

I heard that a couple of them were speaking TV tonight. I chose to watch The Kardashians.....they are more intelligent.

I absolutely agree that "we" American businesses are facilitating the illegal immigrants, no question about it. The government has made it a fineable offense to do so now.

I travel down South a lot, I get stopped and my vehicle checked quite often (more than not) and I am very happy to accomodate them, as any legal American should be. Most of the guys that are checking me are Hispanic, am I raising the "racist" flag because I am big and white? No! because I can see past that poopoo (can I say that chef?) and get the big picture which is National security.

Not picking on you Ernesto but I have to question one other comment you made "I am more american than them!" What exactly does this mean?

dang, I wanted to see the pic. People take stuff way to serious and personal, getting offended by everything so the pic has to get deleted so as to not hurt anyones "feelings"

Oh and I am half mexican and support this bill 100%. If you're legal you have nothing to worry about. If you're not legal than you are the problem. Go back.

As far as profiling goes, who gives a crap. Of course they're going to profile. When probly 80% of AZ's illegals are hispanic (just throwing a # out there and probly on the low end) and your trying to catch illegals, who the heck are you gonna be looking at? It's pure common sense. If you're offended because they ask you then you again are part of the problem.

The picture did not get pulled....it's on page 1 of the thread. I think it's a pretty humorous represenation of how some people view this bill, now whether it's an accurate depiction of the bill is up for debate.

No problem at all azpackhorse, I know you since you became a member of this awesome site. You can pick on me it does not bother me. We are in the same boat and I agree with your points of view.....you know, and even if we disagree there is nothing wrong with that, some times is ok to disagree. That's what it makes this website so rich, the diversity of view points.

Ok now to your question, what I said was "and to some of them I am more american than them" and I repeat, "some". It is a joke I played on a friend of mine, his name is Ruben, he happens to be a U. S. Custom agent. He was born in Mexico but became a Naturalized U. S. Citizen. Also let me tell you that by the Grace of God I was born in San Diego California so I am a U. S. of America Citizen. So one day after several years without seeing Ruben I saw him at one Port of Entry. He then started to bomb me with lots of questions, why I did this, why that, for how long, etc. Who was the first president of the U. S. who is the current presindent of the U. S. Then I started laughing :D I said come on Rube shut up, I'm probably more american than you...at least I was born here in the U. S. and you were not! Than I guess he could not resist anymore and also started to laug really hard

So there you have it...that's why I said what I said and I hope no one missunderstand what I said......this is a Great Country and it is My Country.

So we are in the same boat my friend, and in order to get out of this murky water we need to row in the same direction. This topic has been discussed here more that a dozen times and we get no where; some times even divides the members of this awesome site. We can work together and do our part but I feel that is not up to me and you to fixed...why? Cause behind the illegal immigration there are some people, some companies and even parts of the goverment that illegals means BIG $$$$ to them. Again....this topic is very extensive and we can be here for the whole year talking about it and it we will never end.

azpackhorse...come on...dont take it personally with Chef, he's doing is responsability, he's a moderator and we have to respect that, besides...he's also in the same boat we are....if the boat sinks...we go down with him too ;) Take care and God bless.

Great story Ernesto.

I transposed numbers on a hunt application a few years back.

Ended up with a 36B tag. Didn't know a thing about the unit so I did some heaven forbid E-Scouting.

I found this great site and have met many friends since then.

This is the only site I visit on a daily basis. It is great and keeps me informed about alot more than just hunting coues hunting.

I have become more politically inolved because this site brings up so many great topics that I was clueless about both G$F, State and National Government.

I think it is our job as citizens of this great country to spread the word, get involved and to have discussions about political issues. If we just sit and don't do anything then we have no one to blame but ourselves.

I read things on this website, hear about it on the news 5 days later and my wife says......how did you know about that????

I really appreciate that this hunting website also has the political section, I have learned alot from many of you.

It is ok to disagree.......I have many times had to re-evaluate how I look at things because of points of view others have expressed.

Carry on Ernesto, sounds like you have a good approach to life................

Hey Ernesto and everybody else...

I hear you, Brother and I agree with a few of the points some of you have posted. No matter how much we try to make people understand about escaping horrible living conditions i. e. someone from a Central or South America tries to cross the border in search of a better life. Such is life down there that they are willing to risk limb and life to reach the land of plenty by heading to El Norte. The average Mexican earns about 11 to 17 dollars a day and that is generous some from other poorer countries earn way less. If I was in the same boat perhaps I'd be risking everything to come to this great land too. As unfortunate as this situation is for many, I would be willing to bet nobody either U.S. citizen or legal resident would be picking lettuce for minimum wage under 113 degree heat in Yuma or Imperial Valley from sunup to sundown sometimes up to seven days a week. You are also right that some of these points alienate some and make others feel uncomfortable thus dividing people in this forum. This discussion forum is great, fun, and very informative but it is about Coues Whitetail hunting. I have met some very nice people that are just as passionate about hunting as I. But I ask that the Political Discussions section be left out. Besides, I think I'm not the only one on here that wants Snapshot to just let it go already. Just my three cents!

I will let it go when the people that come to the United States, illegally, or otherwise, start showing some respect to this country, and the people, like me, that have been working hard and paying taxes here all our lives. I have helped build this country with my hard work, blood, sweat, and some tears, as well as losing much becuase of the greed of various entities.

I have absolutely no respect or sympathy for the illegals, or work permit folks, that come here and piss on me and this country with their " I hate all white people" attitudes, as well as what I believe in, and have worked hard for.

Let it go? I will let it go when the border door hits them in the butt on the way out!

Venadito, no one has a problem with the folks that come her "LEGALLY" to pick the lettuce or work the fields for half what we would do it for. That's just the issue. There's a "LEGAL" way to do it. It's the ones that come here "ILLEGALY" and milk our system dry, having 4 baby's on my dime who then have to be supported by our system. I dont even want to get into discussing the ones that come here then want to live the way they did there. Not to mention the ones that put down our country and want to brag about the way it was there. I could go on and on.

Ernesto, nothin directed at you, just in general. I dont even know what you wrote.........

I was married to a Mexican-American for 14 years, even if it did not work out so well in the end. Half of my extended family were proud hispanic americans. Born here, worked hard to get were they are in life. My uncle in laws, who lived in South Tucson all their lives told me how disgusted they were with the illegals who, infested and destroyed, what used to be good neighborhoods. People that have no respect for their neighbors or were they lived, Crime escalated, and gang activity grew at alarming rates. Drug and stash houses sprung up everywhere. I am not stereotyping anyone, but the proof is apparent for those willing to pull their heads out of the sand to see it.

IMO. The Democrats are well on the way to bankrupting this country, or at the very least, send us into a major depression. If the Fed's put as much money and effort into stopping illegal immigration as they do in foreign wars, we could stop illegal immigration dead in it's tracks. Saving billions every year, and keep the money in our country, instead of all the money that gets sent back to Mexico by the people that earned it. Money going back to Mexico is detrimental to economic improvement in this country. I won't even get into welfare and government handouts.
