How far did it travel from where it was hit, if you don't mind me asking? -The lion went about 1/4 - 1/2 mile from where he was hit. Difficult to estimate because of the thick brushy area that it ran into. It took a downhill run for a bit then started running uphill a bit before it stopped. azhuntnut Report post Posted October 1, 2012 Great job on a fine mountain lion. I believe lions are some of the toughest animals. I shot one last year with a .243 wssm and searched for it for over 6 hours and never did find it.
