Ron G. Report post Posted September 3, 2012 You guys are getting me excited for this year's hunt! I hope it is an early rut, or at least a good rut this year. I personally feel the intensity of the rut is dependent upon many things, but I think probably the number one factor is moisture. It seems like a good year for water and feed, so I'm hoping/expecting the rut to be a good one this year! Ron
AntlerObsession Report post Posted September 4, 2012 Just got back from 27, saw about 25 bulls Saturday night, all of them were screaming and the smaller ones were fighting. The big bulls didn't come down until almost dark but wanted to so bad! They'd just sit on the ridge and scream! There wasn't a road we drove where we didn't hear bugles. They aren't coming into a call yet, but they're getting ready to!

lugnuts Report post Posted September 5, 2012 Alpinebullwinkle, I thought you were going to be in Unit 1 this year? You aren't doing some trickery are you? I haven't seen a bull with a cow yet in 27. Still in bachelor groups like usual. Might be a little early, but not like your advertising.
