Azonfoot22 Report post Posted August 29, 2012 Hey guys Mathews found me on a different site and requested i post a few pics for yall. I have been shed hunting for several years now and last year i hit big with these White tail horns i happened upon while looking for elk horns! i found the first side after i glassed up an elk horn accross the canyon. i went straight down and straight up to the elk horn but before i got to the elk horn i paused half way up to catch my breathe. i turned around to see where i came from, and not three feet from where i had stepped was the first side! picked up a few smaller elk horns but nothing else. came back a week later for the other side with very little hopes of finding it. this time i brought my cousin and we camped out! luckily whithin the first afternoon of looking i stumbled upon the second side! anyways enough rambling... First side Second side back at camp the set together pics taken by Josh. thanks for looking!

azshtr Report post Posted August 29, 2012 I'm no expert so educate me... how are those a pair? They don't look like they came from the same deer. Is it just the basic same size, the similar off shoot on the rear tine, the similar size girth and eye guards? To many similarities to be coincidence even though the left is clearly a non typical. I should add... AWESOME sheds
GRONG Report post Posted August 29, 2012 Zach I can't look at those brutes enough!! Thanks for finally getting them on here for all of us to enjoy! You are a shed hunting fool and you deserve every inch of those things. But of course I'm ENTIRELY jealous of you cause those things are FLIPPIN INCREDIBLE!!! Much more impressive in person! The sheds I mean

I should add... AWESOME sheds Not only do the bases match perfectly, the pedicle "design" but the lines on the horns from the burrs up past the eyeguards are the same. If you were to study and really look at any antlers you'll notice that they're all somewhat similar but entirely different if that makes sense. Look at this buck my buddy Jim May shot. If you found these sheds would you think they were from the same buck? Heck I wouldn't but they are. Just cause a rack is different from side to side doesn't mean it's not the same buck.
