Assault Rifles in 36A

Recommended Posts

We hunted 36C last year, and will hunt it again this year. We did tag out. Make no mistake, there is alot of activity down there. The military is set up down there in the south end, I figured they are flying drones. They spot the backpackers at night with ir, and go in at first light and pick them up. They will run them at night with the choppers as well. I got to meet alot of young BP guys, most real nice guys, and real bad @sses too. I got the feeling most of them were former military. As for ARs, I will be hunting with one this year(6.8 SPC) and I always carry a side arm down there as well. I love 36C, the terrain varies wildly and hunting can be tough, but it is one of the most beautiful units I've seen. Baboquivari is a beautiful thing to see, and after reading some of Mr Quimby's stories, the place is legendary.

I too have hunted in the Southern units and for the most part I'm not too worried. I carry a sidearm and usually hunt wil others. 36c definitely has beautiful country and without heading too far north...for us in the southern part of the state, it seems to me that 36A B and C have the most deer in it. I will definitely continue to hunt down there...I will continue to be vigilant and maintain situational awareness.
