New and Improved CouesWhitetail.com website coming soon!

Recommended Posts

I wanted to give you a heads-up that I will be launching a new and much easier to use version of CouesWhitetail.com soon! I have been working with forum member Jay Park (aka jmp) to create a content management system that will allow users to easily look through the hundreds of photos in the photogalleries on the non-forum part of the site. You will be able to search photos, videos and hunt stories easily with defined "tags" that represent antler characteristics such as "droptine", "extra beam", "massive", or by score range such as "100-110", "120-130" or you can even search by hunt unit number (e.g., "36c", "23", etc).

This new site will be much easier for me to update and it will be much easier for you to submit your stories and photos. There is also a place where random photos from the site are displayed and when you see one you like, you can click on it and it will take you right to the article with more information and photos.

You will also be able to login using your regular forum login to post comments in the non-forum part fo the site. So let's say a new photo is added to the photogallery, you can then add a comment about it much like we all do in the current forum.

In addition to the regular photogalleries (rifle, archery, Mexico, San Carlos, etc), I have added a White Mtn Apache gallery and a CW.com sticker sighting gallery.

Anyway, Jay and I have been working hard on this new site and we hope you love it! Many thanks to Jay for his hard work over the last several months. He basically took all the content from the old site and entered it into the new site!

In the next few days we will be making the change over from the old site to the new one. There may be some time when you see some "funky" things going on with either the main non-forum part of the site or the forum. But bear with us as we get it all sorted out. I think you will all value the improvements and the transfer should all go pretty smoothly.

If you have posted a hunt story recently in the forum or expect to in the next few days, I suggest you also save a copy to your harddrive (just cut and paste it into a word document) just in case there is any loss of recent posts as we move the forum to a new server.

Hope you are all taking advantage of over the counter archery tags along with our much cooler monsoon weather!

Amanda

One thing to note is that the URL for the forum will be changing. Right now it's at forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums. As soon as the site resolves to the new server, which could be any minute now, the forum url will change to: www.coueswhitetail.com/forums.

So those of you who have it bookmarked, please make a note of the change.

I was wondering what was up! I was having problems getting it to load, and then the new "home" page popped up. I thought we had been hacked or closed for a second! Nice to see.

Amanda, I sent you an e-mail about helping with the Facebook page a while back when we discussed it in another thread. I don't know, but it probably got lost in the mass amounts of emails I'm sure you get. If you still want help, I'm still more than willing.

I'm with Pine Donkey on this one. Can't wait to see the new version of cwt. The wait is like the night before Christmas:

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,

Not a member was stirring, not even a mouse.

The computers were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that Amanda soon would be there.

The members were nestled all snug in their beds,

While new versions of couewhitetail danced in their heads.

When next to the chimney there rose such a clatter,

Members sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.

They flew like a flash with mouse in their palm,

To see the new version of coueswhitetail.com.

She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,

And fixed all the computers, then turned with a jerk.

And laying her finger aside of her nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney she rose!

Amanda sprang to her sleigh, to her coues deer gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But members heard her exclaim, as she drove out of site,

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. :)

Ok, guys, the new and improved non-forum part of the site is live...... http://www.coueswhitetail.com

Check it out and let me know what you think. I think you will find the photogalleries much easier to navigate and I expect you will really like the Browse by Tag feature. And the random images are pretty cool...you will most likely spot photos that you forgot were on the site!

Non-Typical Solutions, I'm trying to figure out what might be causing your issue with the images. Can you PM me with the details of your machine... for example, what operating system and browser you're using. Perhaps how much memory you have available?
