Sound to stop mulies in their tracks?

Recommended Posts

Modern Call Products make an inhale/exhale Mule Deer call, I have had good luck with the inhale (doe) all times of the year, the exhale during the rut

I always stop muleys by just grunting with my mouth if they don't stop I grunt louder it has never failed me. But that's during the rut don't know about bucks in velvet. I have killed 4 muleys with a bow like this.

I found that just the lip squeak I use when hunting coyotes works great when i'm archery hunting! its never failed for me with elk,coues,muleys..I use it to stop them and out of habit I do it right after the shot and the last 3 that I've taken haven't went over 50 yards..

I have had great luck if they are NOT spooked using a regular bleat sound like the guys on TV...

But if they are already spooked they won't usually care about that sound... in some cases I have used a "blow" sound (pshhhh) and stomped my feet hard on the ground (like their alert stomp) to make them take notice.

It worked one awesome time this year!

The varmint lip squeakers works awesome, im not sure the exact name but its almost like a squeaker in a dog toy if you just wanna rip one of those apart. Or if you can make a stop sign or get your hands on one just make sure its set about 10 to 15 yards from your shooting lane works everytime. :)
