Snapshot Report post Posted August 18, 2012 I am working on a resort rennovation project here in Tucson. It gives me LOTS of excercise. As far as diet, the first thing I need to do is quit drinking Monster energy. I use it as a crutch, and drink way too much of the garbage to keep me going. Ernesto C Report post Posted August 18, 2012 My Monster Energy, diet and excercise, comes when I start thinking on or about the hunt on the previous months. I start thinking about the beautiful sunrise hitting the mountains, when I start thinking about the peace and how good it feels to be away from the city with all its daily routine and noises. It gives me Monster Energy when I start thinking about the fire at camp sharing jokes with friends and/or family while eating some carne asada It gives me more energy the closer I get to to opening day. Opening morning carrying my back pack with all my glassing equipment and my favorite rifle. Yes that's my diet, excercise and Energy drink Admiring God's perfect landscape and and wildlife...I feel alive and millionare; heck I bet some millionares out there they have'n experience what we do.......yes I'm getting hungry for more of this " diet and excercise" Haha I cant wait.......I cant wait to be glassing and also thinking abuout the excitment of the day while admiring a beautiful sunset. Stay hungry for more my friends Ernesto C
Antmo23 Report post Posted August 18, 2012 I cut out all fried foods, alcohol, and soda from my diet. I also eat just a salad for lunch every day. Up until I tweaked my knee, I was walking 4.5 miles with a 45lbs pack on my back, was working my way towards bleachers with the same weight. Had to quit with the pack training but I've still lost 6 lbs with just dieting and doing a bunch of crunches. Almost to my goal of an in shape 165lber! runningbird Report post Posted August 19, 2012 I've been running every day for the last 6 weeks, and will run at lunch when I'm hunting. it helps me aclimate to the altitude. Trying to cut down on a lot of animal products and just trying to stay healthy. I leave in a week for three weeks of hunting. Can't wait!
Snapshot Report post Posted August 19, 2012 I am sitting here guzzling a Monster. Getting ready to make bacon and Eggs. Diet? What diet? My cholesterol level is off the charts. The nice thing about where I hunt, it is steep. If I have a coronary half way up the ridge, at least I might roll to the bottom where someone can find my carcass.

It's all about moderation. +1 moderation stay in shape all year and you also be healthy all year!! Lucky me. I come from good German stock with some French and Irish tossed in for good measure. I haven't had so much as a sniffle in years, never broken anything and don't think I've had a head ache in 30 years. At 5'10" and 175 I think "bugs" just move on to a more substantial host. LOL Your one of the lucky ones. I must be a more substantial host. I have been suffering from a summer cold bug all weekend. How in the heck does a person get sick in August?
