Thats awesome! Lets use Jaguars that don't even really live there for a reason to stop a mine project. But... they could live there! I loath these environuts!

Hey guys, this is serous! That mine is destroying prime saber toothed lion habitat. Yes I know that none of them has been seen in that area in quite a while, but they could be there, and that's enough to call off this mine... Are they €%¥~ serious? Habitat that has never seen a jaguar, or hasn't IN A FEW DECADES, is being set aside for them? I bet hunters down there stop being so forthcoming with intel and photos of jags after this. It'll be like tying our own noose!

This is already happening... Nobody trusts G&F or any other federal agency...

Do a little research and find out what happened to the last guy who provided G & F with jaguar pics. And they wonder why some don't want to give out pics anymore, let alone location?? Pure silliness.

Lance,

That was in reference to the original poster you quoted, not you. I "quoted" the wrong post. But I think everyone gets the idea.

Oh yes, I know... It was commissioner Normam Freeman who wanted the lion hunter who treed the last jaguar in the Whetstones, charged with "illegal take of a endangered species". This is typical G&F mentality, the hunter is always guilty of something... Freeman needs to go away! Any lion hunter or other hunter who comes forward with Jaguar information is setting themselves up for being investigated.

Basically Freeman was so pissed off that the Hunter who treed the Jaguar did not want to release the photos, because he was considering writting a story or book about it, that Freeman wanted him Charged. Then to top it off there were many inter-department email at the G&F about how to word their press release, so that they wouldnt ruin a case against the hunter, if the USFW decided to pursue charges. So much for looking out for hunters! Some at the department are our worst enemy!

Here is the link to the email chain... http://www.azgfd.gov/w_c/jaguar/documents/Web%20Release%20jag%20reports%202012.02.24.pdf It is a very long email chain, but very interesting...
