eberlestock j107 dragonfly question

Recommended Posts

Currently I have a badlands 2200, now that I have my spotting scope, tripod, binos, and other gear. Im looking to get a bigger pack. My question is does the eberlestock dragonfly have a spot for a spotting scope and tripod without having to use the rifle scabbard?

I have the Just One pack by Eberlestock and I believe the Dragon

fly is about the same except for the top hatch is removable and you can use it as a fanny pack. I can fit a swaro angled spotter in the vertical zippers on either side. It's a good fit for the spotter. Tripods slips in the outside side pocket and glassing chair in opposite side pocket. Lashing straps on the pack hold both tight to the pack. I don't see the advantage for the dragonfly pack unless you like the fanny pack idea.

Check Santana Outdoors, they have a video showing each Eberlestock pack in detail. Also don't forget to ask for you CWT discount if you order from them.

I would recommend my pack to anyone, I love it. I packed an entire gutted coues minus the head/ cape in the meat compartment and it rode very well in the pack.

I also had the 2200 and recently upgraded to the Dragonfly, largely for the reason you suggested, more space. The dragonfly does not have designated spot for a tripod and spotting scope like the 2200, but is has more than enough space for it and spots where they can be very well secured. You won't be disappointed with the Dragonfly. You also have good taste. The 2200 and the Dragonfly are the best two packs I have ever owned!

Yes. I use the two tubes one for the spotter and one for the tripod no problem. Truth is I shove a bunch of other small stuff in there as well and the range finder fits perfectly on the belt in the net pockets. I wear this pack all the time unless I am going to pack in for a while and need something a little larger and a frame.

I also used the 2200 for years and ran across the same problem you have adding 15's tripod and spotting scope. I chose the Badlands OX. I have been really happy with it so far. Tripod and spotter go in the long side pockets and 15's fit perfectly in the pocket at the very top. Also I always have a frame pack with me and it carries the weight really well. Gear in and game out. My opinion is it offers allot in one package.

Speedy.
