azcouesfanatic Report post Posted August 12, 2012 Well my dad and I headed out to New Mexico on Friday for the Saturday opener of archery antelope. First light on Saturday found me crawling in on a nice buck. I was utilizing my Be the decoy system and when the buck saw me he closed from 150 yards to 70 in no time. He finally stopped for a shot at 85 yards and I shot just a little high. My dad was sitting in a blind but I quickly realized there was too much water to be sitting on water. I called my dad and told him and we met up. We began looking for another buck to stalk when we found a bachelor group of three bucks. My dad was able to make a great 40 yard shot and I followed him with a 50 yard shot on my buck. It was a quick hunt but we had a great time. It was a good warm up for my dads elk hunt to come.
