PRDATR Report post Posted August 13, 2012 Why 150Gr??? That's gonna be a really hard one to find (if it even exists in .310") since it is a "Milsurp" round. I would stick with the 123's and maybe move to a Hornady Interlock SP. Look at my post with the 150gr from Corbon. The big concern here is whether optimal ballistics can be achieved in a 16" barrel. The folks at Corbon are certainly not going to create a load using an incorrect diameter bullet.
bobbyo Report post Posted August 14, 2012 Am I the only one who thinks this round is a little bit too small for mules? Definately not saying unethical or anything, just wondering if you put a decent, but not a great hit on a 200 pounder and it runs away how are you going to feel about your itch then? HKshutr Report post Posted August 14, 2012 Precisely why I asked the question Bobbyo. It is one of those borderline rounds. Shot placement is even more critical with a round like that. But I also believe that a not so great hit on a 200 pounder with a popular round could produce the same results. That is also why I don't take 400 or 500 yard shots. If I do use this rifle to hunt Muleys with, I will definitely need to be sure of my shot. Thanks for the input.
bobbyo Report post Posted August 14, 2012 You sound like you know what needs to be done and I guess you are looking at using this gun as a challenge. I just believe in murphys law. First day you are going to see the trophy of a lifetime at 350 400 yards and your going to think why didn't I bring the magnum. Anyway good luck Murphys law might only apply to me.
