Pine Donkey Report post Posted August 5, 2012 If this is the same one I have heard about, it is designed by some engineers at Raytheon. They developed it about 6 or 7 years ago and have been working to improve it ever since. They haven't yet put much effort into marketing. If this is not the same one, there is a similar one out there. I would like to hear from anybody who has shot them.
soccerstar2013 Report post Posted August 5, 2012 I have and they shoot great honestly I find them to be a tad bit more accurate than my 2" blazers! BUT they are LOUD! I hated that they are so much louder and also don't like that they pop off. I decided to go back to blazers but if you are shooting 3D they would be perfect! standman Report post Posted August 5, 2012 Here is a link to a bunch of different threads on archery talk that discuss the FOBs. http://www.archeryta...archid=14666609 Brian
rclouse79 Report post Posted August 5, 2012 I think I got better arrow flight with them. You have to wrap your arrow with some bright tape or you will never find it when the fob pops off. The only bad thing is you have to shoot at different spots on your target when you are practicing or you will damage them.
Dodgerboy999 Report post Posted August 5, 2012 Paul morris designed it. he is here in tucson. I would say as of the last 4 years he has made his mark in the industry there are shooters all over the world using them go to the website and check out the gallery pages there has been many critters taken with them. so I believe they work pretty well plus I have personally knock a few critters down with them I will never use regular fletches again. 4Falls Report post Posted August 6, 2012 Ive been shooting these for about 4 years now. I think they're great. I have not noticed them to be any louder than traditional fletchings. I especially like the way they perfom downrange and in windy conditions.
ready2hunt Report post Posted August 7, 2012 A few questions for those that use them: Have any of you that have used these seen any difference in your grouping at different yard'age particularlly long range? Do they add or decrease the feet per second flight of your arrows? I am sure people have commented on this on other sites but I trust CWT opinons more
elkhunter Report post Posted August 7, 2012 Yes tigheter groups at longer ranges 60-70 yards than blazers. Cant vouch for anything else though.
ready2hunt Report post Posted August 7, 2012 That is great to hear. I just set my 70-80 yard pin on my bow last week and had a wide group that I need to tighten up a bit. Thanks for the info and thread!
4Falls Report post Posted August 7, 2012 I got a slight increase in speed. Its difficult to say if I got better groups because I practice with broadheads anyway so i normally shoot 5 arrow groups into 5 spots on a target. I like the consitancy of the product as opposed to traditional fletching. They are way more durable then youd think. Ive got a couple that have outlasted a shaft or two in their lifespan. I dont have a problem with them popping off in the field (which was an original concern of mine). Ive even shot broken or cracked ones that fly just fine. just my 2 cents. loco4coues Report post Posted August 8, 2012 Adding to what others have said, they are very easy to install- no glue, jigs, etc. just put them on. A huge plus in and out of the field for me. I don't know if Paul still does it or not but when I bought my first dozen he said he would send me a free dozen for each YouTube video I posted using them. I got two more dozen for free that way.
