ZBAR Report post Posted August 4, 2012 I was very lucky & drew the 23 late rifle hunt this year. I've seen quite a few mule deer around Roosevelt but I know there are some other areas that hold mule deer in December as well. Does anybody with knowledge of the unit have any thoughts about what to expect as far as size? Will there be deer North of Young at that time? AZbowhntr Report post Posted August 9, 2012 I have seen pictures of some monsters that have come out of 23. I have been putting in for the early mule deer hunt for a couple years. I have never seen one though in all the years I have been hunting 23. Which is close to 15. I have seen some very nice coues deer and bulls though. Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted August 9, 2012 Congrats on an Amazing tag! We tried to get someone in our group drawn for that with no luck. We spend over a 100 days a year in 23 so we have extensive knowledge of the unit as well as a full time hunting/scouting camp there. Let me know if you are looking for any help on the hunt, we will already be there for your hunt as it is at the same time as the Coues deer late hunt. Judging by what my Cameras & Glassing are showing me we may be seeing some pretty dang good antler growth this year in 23. Again, Congrats on an Amazing AZ hunting opportunity!!!
