ready2hunt Report post Posted July 31, 2012 I saw this mentioned in another thread and instead of hi-jacking it I figured I would ask the question. Which ballistic calculators do you use? I down loaded one for my android phone called "Strelok" and I have yet to use it....seems to be pretty detailed. Anyone found something thats better or that works well for them? bigorange Report post Posted July 31, 2012 Haven't used shooter due to the cost. I have Winchester Ballistics (free) on iPhone and it's pretty good. Viper Report post Posted July 31, 2012 Strelok seems really good, detailed but simple to use. I don't typically use it in the field because I have a ballistic reticle and angle compensated range finder, but use it for theoretical senarios, such as changing scopes, zero range, ammo, windage, elevation, etc. You can select your scope from a long list, and display the sight picture and point of aim. I may use it in the field for my buddy's setup, if there is time. He has a simple plex reticle and this would help with hold over. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

rcdinaz Report post Posted August 1, 2012 Exbal is one of the original standards but is expensive and requires a PDA, if you can swing it go for it. I have used Strelok and played with a few others iSnipe, FTE, bullet flight, but only use shooter now. Shooter is available on apple products and android so I have the same app on my iPad and Android phone. I have not found much lacking and it is pretty straight forward, also the author answers questions within 24 hours and is pretty helpful. One thing it makes pretty simple is adjusting the calculated output to match your real world conditions so you have an accurate ballistic table for your load in your rifle. It also utilizes the accelerometer so that you can get shot angle with your phone like having a portable ACI/ADI when you shoot. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
