AZLance Report post Posted August 4, 2012 If Game and Fish is proposing the tags already, how would this obliterate our herd? According to their survey data the herd sustains those tags and the associated harvest. This just allows the AZGFD to maximize the use of their resources. According to their survey data??? That data shows deer numbers and success numbers going down, while tag numbers are going up...
123456 Report post Posted August 4, 2012 G&F surveys are pretty much a joke. until there is mandatory check in, their surveys are nowhere near accurate. I bet game and fish has figured out that if they throw 1000 tags in one unit at the same time, the amount of deer actually killed decreases. The deer see people everywhere they go, so they go into caves. Ask "Coosefan" he caught one coming out of hiding.
1uglydude Report post Posted August 4, 2012 It doesn't just have to be left over tag for the second right? You could get an over the counter tag too? That's how I read it..only one from the draw system and the other from some other method of getting a tag (i.e. left over, over the counter) Is that how you guys understand it? Yes, you could also get an over the counter tag.

reganranch Report post Posted August 4, 2012 It seems like the G and F takes a step forward into sound conservation and then they take three steps backward. For example trying to get ahold of Mountain Lion numbers in certain units they open up night hunting(sounds like a small step forward but a step none the less). Then what they do is they have meetings to listen to complaints from antis. For example the McDowell mountain preserve concerning bow hunting and now attractant issue they have a meeting and somehow out of the 100,000 people who hunt in Arizona few of them show up to speak on behalf of what the majority of us what want. Then somehow that justs all good and well, but G andF doesn't give a dam and they pass these BS laws anyway.

In another words, if you have a archery javelina tag you will need first to fill out that tag in order to buy the second left over tag for a differen hunt number correct? 654321 Report post Posted August 22, 2012 if i understand the proposal you can only get 1 tag through the draw and then the other one through first come first serve and only one tag per hunt number., not sure if you can get 2 tags for 2 diffferent hunt numbers through first come first serve, hope that makes sense

That's what I'm saying...you can't have two tags of the same species at the same time correct? For example....if you got drawn for the general or rifle season in unit 36C...In order to buy a left over tag for unit 36B you will need to fill out your 36C tag first before you buy the left over tag..correct? that I'm right or wrong? You can't have two unfilled javelina tags for different hunts before the hunt or season start, correct?? Ernesto C
654321 Report post Posted August 22, 2012 if you go to the G&F web page and scroll down the side to July 24 spring hunt rec. and open it then open hunt guideline and then spring hunt it has the spring proposals. if you read the paragraph it would appear that you could have 2 pig tags in your poss. as long as their not the same hunt #. so it seems to me you could have an archery permit in 6A&b and also haave an archery permit in 19A as long as you drew one hunt and picked the other hunt first come first serve since they are different hunt #. Tines Report post Posted August 23, 2012 It's simple: You can draw ONE tag. Then, if you'd like, pick up an additional OTC tag as long as it's a different hunt # as the permit you DREW. Hunt dates won't matter, just hunt # must be different.
Packer Report post Posted August 23, 2012 Yes, you can possess two tags at the same time. So you don't have to wait until you fill the first tag before getting an additional tag.
Ernesto C Report post Posted August 29, 2012 Ok guys thanks for your help and response. The lady at the game and fish office told me wrong then....she told me I need it to fill out one tag first in order to get the second tag that's why I was confused and asking the question. Thanks again. Ernesto C
