tjhunt2 Report post Posted July 23, 2012 Jamaro, thanks for sharing that video with us. I've yet to video or carture one on any of my trail cams. I have been fortunate to have seen 13 mt lions. I would say it wasn't because I know how to find them but just happened to be in the right spot at the right time. I'm lucky to have taken 3 without the help of guides or dogs. Two were taken out of my doublebull blind with one being face to face at 8 yards. Thanks again for sharing another one of your experiences. TJ

reganranch Report post Posted July 24, 2012 Very Cool jamaro many people go their whole lives without running into/seeing a lion in a natural environment.
tjhunt2 Report post Posted July 24, 2012 Very Cool jamaro many people go their whole lives without running into/seeing a lion in a natural environment. That's absolutely true. I have buddies who hunt hard and haven't ever seen a lion and my wife has seen 4 in her life time. All of hers have been on the road. Go figure! TJ

Coach Report post Posted July 28, 2012 Wow Jason - that's some great footage, and what a cool experience. TJ, you never told me you were the "cat whisperer". Had no idea you've seen and taken so many lions. In all my years hunting and glassing I've only glassed up one, while he was stalking some does I was watching. I've seen glimpses of 2 others, both on the San Carlos. Somewhere on my bucket list is shooting a mature cat, and I'd like to do it without dogs. I have nothing against that, I just want to see a lion while out hunting and get the opportunity to take it on my own. It would mean more to me if it were a "chance encounter" than actually setting out looking for one.
