SDHunter11 Report post Posted July 21, 2012 My card has not been hit, so I don't think I have been drawn. I have 5 points now and don't want to lose them on a left over tag, but have heard you don't lose your points when you pick one up. Is this true? I am an out of stater now, and don't want to pay $400 to hunt southern AZ coues nov if I lose 5 points on it. Please let me know if you have done this or know the answer. Thanks in advance for your help.
bonecollector Report post Posted July 21, 2012 You will not lose your points on a leftover tag.
reganranch Report post Posted July 21, 2012 Nope not at all it is not considered a drawn tag. You can pick up a leftover and your BP's will stay safe.
Jcubed Report post Posted July 21, 2012 No loss of points...some may call it a strategy!
briant_az Report post Posted July 21, 2012 ^^^^SOME being me for one! If I don't get drawn for a good tag I can always pick up a leftover down south. The hunt is still a good hunt and you have a great chance of shooting a nice wt.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted July 21, 2012 One does not gain a BP either if applying for a leftover and not "drawing" one.
SDHunter11 Report post Posted July 21, 2012 Thanks for the quick responses. Looks like I will be trying to pick up one of those leftovers down south!
