GreeneMachine Report post Posted July 18, 2012 I have a new respect for all those that are able to edit and put videos together of their hunts. It sure seemed easy, but took me about a week to figure out. I had this video up on Youtube for about a week before they took it down. Let's see if Vimeo will keep it up for a while. Anyhow, this was our first time using the slow mo' camera setting. Brings a new element to prairie dog shooting when you have an instant slow motion replay available. If you don't understand/appreciate prairie dog shooting, you're not going to like this video...viewer discretion is advised! https://vimeo.com/45935118

GreeneMachine Report post Posted July 18, 2012 That was Awesome!!! Kill every prairie dog you can find, they are destructive little critters. What video editing program did you use? Purchased Adobe Premiere Elements, and it crashed my computer everytime I tried to finish the video. Then I purchased Cyberlinks Power Direct, and it crashed my computer. Finally used the Windows video editing software that came with my computer for free and it ended up working but it has very little editing options. Adobe's product would have been awesome if my computer could have handled the media.
GreeneMachine Report post Posted July 19, 2012 CARNAGE! ABSOLUTE CARNAGE! That was awesome, what caliber/bullet were you using? We probably had 10 different rifles amongst us, nothing larger than .22cal. The majority of those were actually 17HMR.
Antmo23 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 Wow, that's all? Some of those dogs got blown in half and flipped several feet in the air. So awesome... I use my 300 WM and 110 vmax for varmints. took a bobcat in the head with it ( horrible shot, I know...) and it didn't even pass thru.very little damage. The 17HMR is an awesome round on prairie dogs. A lot of the clips of dogs with nothing left of them were taken with a 221 Fireball.
Antmo23 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 Super cool. I was out in 10 last year helping on a goat hunt and we saw a bunch of prairie dogs and yotes, but my buddy wouldn't let me shoot, lol. He said something about waiting 8 years for the tag or something....lol
mklong40 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 I was at this shoot, and for those wondering, if the rabbit was eatable, it was ate......we were shooting small calibers to help the cause. Outside of that, the whistle pigs tasted fantastic with BBQ sauce.
