Scent Eliminator Opinons

Recommended Posts

Hey just curious what everyone's opinon is on these products. I normally buy a can or 2 of "CODE BLUE 360" spray and I love it however as everyone is probably aware it's not the cheapest and of course I run throught it all pretty quick between myself and those who are around me.

What type of scent eliminators or cover brands does everyone use or do you feel works best for you?

I use the Dead down wind products.

They seem to workl well.

I also wear the lightweight long underwear that has the silver weaved into the material. Most of the sets I have are cabelas brand. I even wear that stuff in the summer when it's 110 out . It wicks moisture and really isn't hot as long as you wear light clothing over it. I'm a beliver in it's scent reducing capabilities..

I hit one of their sales and I believe they were about 25.00 for the top and 25.00 for the bottoms.

So 50 Bucks !

I don't know what the current price is, but a search on cabelas website for base layers should bring something up.

Dead down wind and some Scent Wafers on my backpack and my hat (pine is my favorite smell). Been using some of those scent wipes around mid day, when I start to smell a little human.

I have used most brands and i am not sure there is a best brand although some formulas may last longer which may be what is improtant. For last few years i used the Dead Down Wind kit as well.

When I used to varmint hunt a lot I found out what you do with your clothes and gear is just as important. I would wash my clothes in unscented detergent, you dont have to spend extra on the specialty stuff they have it at the grocery store. I would then keep my clothes in a plastic tote, sometimes throw in a juniper or creosote branch. I was also pretty fanatical about keeping my boots clean and spraying down my other gear a couple times during the day. Seemed to make a lot more of a difference with coyotes than any other game.

we've used a variety also. I like some things better in one line than the other. no matter how they work the wind is either your friend or your enemy. we also do a lot trying to keep the scent down.
