standman Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Any word on Tonto? The part I was in today still had extreme fire danger and was bone dry. Very little if any rain there. Brian
sjvcon Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Okay folks ... this is where I remind all responsible campers that managing your fire is VERY IMPORTANT. Too many people leave fires unattended when they hit the sack, or go out to run about on quads or in a Jeep. Camp fires should be properly managed, and that means PUT OUT when they will be unattended. Let's not forget the two Bozos who started the Bear Wallow fire. They say they thought it was out ... I'm here to tell you if they checked it the right way that fire never would have rekindled and gotten out of the ring. Sorry ... one of my big Pet Peeves is people who think they need a huge blaze to enjoy the outdoors, then leave it unattended thinking "it will be fine". AZLance Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Bigger is always better... And if you don't leave it burning at night lions and bears may come into camp...
