DotShot Report post Posted July 15, 2012 After much searching and just as much frustration i finally found a place that will service a pair of Docter 15x60's i purchased about 7 years ago. When i bought the binos the eye cups were deteriorated and it was obvious that things internally were out of alignment. That being the case i was still able to use them. I sent them to Daniel Baldwin @ Mountain Optics, 203 Rimini Rd. Lakeside, MT 59922, he inspected everything and verified they were in fact out of alignment and is going to replace the eye cups. To have everything repaired and shipped back will run me $280 and i think that's a pretty fair price but i'd like to get some opinions from other users on the site, so that being said, what do you think? Flatlander Report post Posted July 16, 2012 A few years back I had alignment repairs done on my Docter's by an outfit in CA. As I recollect they charged me just over $200 plus shipping. They did not need eyecups, so I would say that it sounds like you are getting the right price.
Siwash Report post Posted July 16, 2012 That sounds fair and about what my friend paid the same guy a year ago after his Docter's got knocked off a tripod in 60+ MPH gusts. He is very pleased with the results and I hope you are too.
