AZLance Report post Posted July 16, 2012 Is there a place where we can see how much was raised for each raffle tag and how much and where that money went?

AZLance Report post Posted July 16, 2012 the funds go to good causes but it would've been nice to see a couple more locals....like me...lol (I did purchase tickets!) What good causes? Just interested in knowing what projects were funded with Super Rafle money...
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 16, 2012 Lance, I will check with AGFD for that list (you can do this also of course). The projects are all public info. I think it's just like auction tag money. A listing of all projects completed with auction tags is available from AGFD every year for each species and I assume a listing of Big Game Raffle projects is available as well. scoutm Report post Posted July 16, 2012 If they only made it for AZ residents we would only raise 1/2 as much money for wildlife conservation. Apparently about 1/2 the applications come from out of state. Guess the out of staters were just extra lucky this year. Given that this year and for as I can rembember out of state hunters have won the vast majority of these tags so it is statically improbable that they only make of half of the pool. Its more likely that they make up 50% of the individuals buying tickets but make up 90% of the tickets purchased..
AZLance Report post Posted July 16, 2012 I will call today and see what info I can get, thanks Amanda
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 16, 2012 I will call today and see what info I can get, thanks Amanda Brian Wakeling got back to me and said that in the June Habitat Partnership Committee Newsletter they listed how all the money from the auction tags and raffle tags was spent for the most recent funding cycle. Thanks Brian! here is a link to the June newsletter and it breaks it all out by species. http://www.azgfd.gov/w_c/documents/June2012HPCNewsletter.pdf All the newsletters can be found at http://www.azgfd.gov/w_c/hpc_newsletters.shtml. I think you can find more details on all the proposals here: http://www.azgfd.gov/w_c/hpc_pastProjProposals.shtml As I have posted in this forum before, anyone that is truly interested in how the money is spent and wants a say in how it's spent, should get involved with the Habitat Partnership committee. CEI Report post Posted July 16, 2012 Thanks Amanda! We appreciate the facts and you generally get to them quickly. I know my family enjoys lower prices and habitat projects because of just a few tags being raffled. I know a few residents that have one in years past and they enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I didn't buy any tickets this year, but congrats to the winners. COUESAZ Report post Posted July 16, 2012 I'm not complaining. I think it's great all that money comes into Arizona. I do buy a few tickets. But my opinion is I would not win even if it was only drawn from Thatcher. I don't have good luck. Hahaha so I was just glad to see an Az hunter on the list.
Mrs125coues Report post Posted July 16, 2012 There was a year ago or two that most of the winners were from Arizona. It is all just the luck of the draw.....speaking of which, I hope we get lucky this year on our deer draw!
