Dan H Report post Posted July 14, 2012 Believe it or not when I was in high school we used to pick jojoba beans for 50 cents a pound out by lake pleasant we never made more than 11.00 dollars a dayand never did find out what the guy made from the himself off them. We eventually found out rattlesnakes were worth more back then now 25 years later I have tons of beans at my house. Anyone ever made coffee out of them we dry roasted some a few years ago and they were kinda bitter but you can survive off them even plain. : thinking maybe we can sort of corner the starbucks market with jojoba coffee for the java junkies

DesertBull Report post Posted July 14, 2012 Don't they make cosmetics out the beans? I know if you eat too many of them they give you the squirts.
Dan H Report post Posted July 14, 2012 DBull, think you nailed that one they are really rich. If I attempt to grind and make coffee I'll probably have to toss the coffee maker when done. You know that tripod I bought from you years ago is still holding up great. The gorilla glue you used on the end caps is bullet proof. Thanks again

DotShot Report post Posted August 5, 2012 I remember the Jojoba bean craze of 30 years ago. I picked beans with my family for several years and actually made some money. I recall making about $900 after picking the heck outta some beans. If i recall correctly, the oil from the bean was used to replace whale oil in cosmetics and various other health and beauty aids. I can even recall eating the beans while i was out picking them and to be honest they taste pretty good.
