Yellowfin Tuna Fishing - Hawaii

Recommended Posts

Sure looks like a good time. I only fished in the big pond once out of San Diego and told them I would be back when they stocked it. Wouldn't it be great to get a CWT fishing trip planned out of San Diego? I'ld jump on board. Thanks for sharing your fish with us.

Sounds fun! But you know it would fall on a weekend you had to work!!

Oh no it won't. lol As of now my work schedule for next year has me working 4/10s with every weeekend off. No more missing projects, banquets, and our first ever San Diego Fishing Adventure. I wonder how many would sign up and who would be willing to put something like that together?

Didn't you mention something about retiring next year?

Yes I did. My plan is to retire in Dec of 2013 just in time for my sheep hunt. :D

Captain said about 120 - 125 for the weight. We didn't put it on a scale. Too much of a hurry to clean it and have sashimi on the dock. The week prior to this trip I fished in the AHI FEVER Tourney on the west coast of Oahu. The winning Ahi was 255 pounds. One boat on Sunday had 4 Ahi between 100 and 170 pounds. Awesome time to fish off the coast of Oahu mid-june through the summer.

Ahi, Ono and Mahi all being caught. Fish the 4 days following a New Moon.

Wow...... It's threads like this that make me VERY bitter about the curse of sea/motion sickness that I have. :( I absolutely LOVE to fish, and I LOVE to eat fish! Unfortunately, for me I have come to the conclusion that I cannot take part in this type of fun due to the life-long curse! I've tried three times and all have ended in misery! ;) Dramamine, Bonine, patches behind the ears, nothing has worked so I end-up slumped over the rail for the vast majority of the time. (One was a 1 1/2 day trip south out of San Diego for Albacore....... 30 hours of heaving misery! )

I sincerely envey you!!!

Good show!
