Anaconda Report post Posted June 24, 2012 I have no experience with trail cams, but I might give one a try this fall. I’m thinking about bringing one on an out of state (late season elk) hunt, to help me maximize two scouting days before opening day. My plan would be place the cam as soon as I arrive, then scout other areas in person, going back to check and move the cam every 24 to 48 hours. Does this sound feasible ? Looking at trail cam options, I’m thinking the “time lapse” software, and a built in screen to check pictures on the spot would be useful. Any suggestions ? bonecollector Report post Posted June 24, 2012 It definately wont hurt to use a camera and be able to scout another area. I'm not sure if the covert ca 3.0 has the viewer on it but the new one that came out the 4.0 has it on there. I'm hoping Amanda gets them in stock soon so I can get one on a water hole I found. Good luck

If you have a small digital camera you could put the SD card in you won't have to buy the more expensive cam. just review them on the digital camera. I have a small Kodak that is always in my pack to look at the pics on the spot. Doing this will also increase you battery life in the scouter. Good luck and happy hunting
