CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 11, 2012 Know of a woman who wants to learn how to hunt Coues Deer? Well, here is the perfect opportunity for her to come and have fun learning how to hunt our favorite deer. This camp is being put together by forum member Carl Young (aka Younggunz). CouesWhitetail.com will be helping to sponsor this camp along with Sportsman's Warehouse and the National Wild Turkey Federation's Women in the Outdoors. This camp will be very much like the women's javelina hunting camp that we have held the last couple years, only it will focus on Coues Deer. The camp is down in Unit 36A, B and C and all novice women hunters will be matched up with an experienced hunter to help teach them how to hunt. Please see the attached flyer for more info. And if you know a lady who wants to attend the camp, have them contact Carl Young at carl@teamyounggunz.com Thank you Carl for all your work getting this camp going and all the future camps you are working on! For those that don't know Carl has created a non-profit designed to get novice hunters (kids and adults) out in the field hunting. He can explain more about the camp and the nonprofit if he likes. At this point we don't know how many ladies we will have so we don't know how many mentors we will need, but if you think you might be interested in helping out with this camp, please email Carl. YOUNGGUNZ Report post Posted June 13, 2012 Thank you so much for the kind words TJ, it means a lot. We are so excited and can't wait for this first camp to get here. There isn't anymore I could say about the camp, Amanda did a beautiful job already. If you were unable to apply for these units in time you should be able to apply for a leftover in about a month or so. We currently have eight women already signed up and quite a few mentorsas well but we need more of each so please spread the word and thank you for all the generous donations and support already given to the cause. I can't thank Amanda enough for all that she does for us and the hunting community in general. Carl Young Team Young Gunz Outdoors, is a non-profit organization, consisting of professionals, educators, volunteers, and other organizations dedicated to unifying family members in our communities by exposing them to a variety of activities in the Outdoors. Team Young Gunz Outdoors, working in close partnership with other outdoor enthusiasts, will promote and enhance quality opportunities for family participation and education in a broad range of activities. Our goal is to help identify and achieve a common interest for each individual family unit. This will enable them to become self-sufficient to carry on the outdoor legacy and to develop their own family traditions. This is achieved through respect and value for the vegitation and wildlife on our State and Federal lands.

Millhouse Report post Posted July 28, 2012 Does anyone know where the camp will be at? Looking at getting a leftover tag for my wife and thought it would be good to know where they were planning on camping. Thanks.
Jcubed Report post Posted July 28, 2012 I don't think that there is an exact location of the camp, at least not that I have heard about. However, based on the info provided that the camp will have easy access to 36c,b, and a I would have to think it will be somewhere off of the 286 or arivaca rd. Either of those roads have camping areas close by and will also allow for easy access into the 36 units which will allow the ladies and gentlemen in attendance with tags in different units to camp together and share experiences. I'm going to be kicking my scouting into high gear in 36c shortly and if anyone who will be a mentor or huntress in this camp would like to go let me know. I'm currently living in Tucson so it's not that far for me to get to the units.
