bonecollector Report post Posted May 30, 2012 The place at Hondah casino is closed down. If you go through globe I believe you can get permits at the chevron gas station at the whiteriver turnoff. If not in between pinetop and hondah casino their is a shop on the right hand side cant miss it, there are signs on side of road saying reservation permits. They open at 7am. SunDevil Report post Posted May 30, 2012 I just called the Hondah outdoor ski and fish shop and they have moved. they use to be right next door to the Hondah gas station which is right next door to the casino. The outdoor store has moved a couple miles back towards Pinetop where the old lumber yard use to be on the south side of the road.

kwp Report post Posted May 31, 2012 Been a few years back now but you used to be able to purchase WMAT fishing licenses at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Tucson. I always found it easiest to just get my license before heading up.

rcdinaz Report post Posted June 2, 2012 The very small rapala's klll them last year. Power bait works and panther martins usually work as well. Rapala's actually worked even better than the cow bells and ford fenders. The south side of the lake has a lot less people and we caught more fish there. Using the boat and fish finder saw more fish off the last two points on the south east side, that is where we caught most of them and all the larger fish 14"-15" range fish. My message may have been too late, sorry.
