My new hunting rig (finally!)

Recommended Posts

Well...after several months of gyrations deciding which 4wd machine to buy, I finally bit the bullet Thursday and bought this 1999 Jeep Wrangler. It needs a couple of things, but overall a pretty nice machine with 100k miles.

And the best part: The wife LOVES it! (so do the kids).

I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your ideas and input in helping me find a vehicle...it was a great help. The lack of a 4wd vehicle been the one thing preventing me from getting out there and "just doing it".

Well, unfortunately with the new travel management rules, you no longer need a 4-wheel drive vehicle anymore. haha! Nice Jeep!

Did I miss something? Where do I look to find out about restrictions? Having not previously owned a 4wd vehicle, I haven't kept in the loop.

Oh, I was just kidding, the 4-wheel drive will still come in handy. The Coconino and Kaibab National Forests came out with travel management rules which closed probably close to half of the roads on the forests and most of them are the little rough roads where Jeeps are really nice to have. A lot of the roads that remain open are nice main roads. You can find information about the TMR on the national forests' respective websites.

That is one nice looking jeep for sure. Looks newer than a 1999. Elkhunter1 has a good point. It definitely needs a cwt sticker. :)

Just email me and I can get one out to you. Let me know which style you want. There are 3 main styles to choose from. You can see the pics on this page:
