CouesWhitetail Report post Posted May 20, 2012 Just a reminder that the annular solar eclipse will be happening this evening. I think it starts around 5:30 but peaks closer to 6:30 pm. for more info about it: http://www.azcentral...in-arizona.html if you can't get out, you can watch it online using link below: http://news.national...-how-see-where/ Don't look directly at the sun as it can cause damage to your eyes. I can't wait to see Red Rabbit's photos of it!

missedagain Report post Posted May 21, 2012 We drove out to Wupatki national monument to watch it.. it was pretty awesome, got to see the total eclipse and the ring of fire even though that only seem to last a minute or two.
pwrguy Report post Posted May 22, 2012 I took this picture as the moon was passing away from the sun. You could look right at it because it was filtered very heavily by the smoke drifting across the horizon from the Sunflower fire.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted May 22, 2012 Cool pic!! It wasn't filtered like that where I was!
Red Rabbit Report post Posted May 22, 2012 Joined a couple of other landscape photographers at a prime location to get the eclipse with an arch. We did not have any solar filters, so the images were with fuzzy suns. It was fun, but no earth shattering results.
