wardsoutfitters Report post Posted May 19, 2012 Get samples of the natural browse. Have it analyzed and find out what it is lacking then make the feed that supplements what they need. You will need four or five different feeds to be very successfully and for different seasons . It takes a lot of work and time in the field.

trophyhnter Report post Posted May 24, 2012 Any tricks to keep the cows away from the corn or hay?
Coach Report post Posted May 26, 2012 Wish I knew. I had a perfect spot going with lots of deer activity. I put nothing but salt and minerals in, and the next thing you know, it became a cattle feed lot. Stinks like crazy now and haven't seen a good deer in there since the cows totally ruined it. I can't imagine how bad it would be if I had any corn or hay in there.
trophyhnter Report post Posted May 26, 2012 I havent tried it yet but here is what i was thinking: locate a new site with mature trees close by and pile up dead and downed branches/trees around on the sides parrallel the game trail and tie long branched to the living trees that would allow deer to get in and out. Placing the branches in the same spacing as they do at the water tank projects. Sounds like a lot of work but it might work.
