GRONG Report post Posted June 13, 2006 I just talked with a member of the ABA and he said they dumped about $10k into new targets and they're getting rid of a lot of the smaller targets on Sunday of the shoot if anyone wants to buy any. They've taken a lot of criticism over the past couple of years and they finally decided to listen to the masses I think. Hopefully it'll be a good turnout this year. I hope most people realize that if it wasn't for the ABA we might not be getting all those precious Sept elk tags this year and we might be hunting elk in November with our bows if it wasn't for all the pressure they put on the G&F. I have a feeling I'm gonna get pounded for my comments............
KGAINES Report post Posted June 13, 2006 Josh the ABA and their survey worked and helped us all out, and they were there to support the ADA at the commission meeting also, I am pretty sure it was their rep that was up there when the chairman scolded another commissioner about the survey, it was all for naught but they tried to help. BowNut Report post Posted June 13, 2006 The guys at the ABA are great. Our archery club and the Arizona Christian Archers ran the first leg of the Triple Crown for them. They started doing this so they could save on funds to help them support hunting in AZ. and put on a better shoot in Williams. I think it will be a great year for them. There banquet was a huge success it seemed to me. I look forward to working with them next year. Maybe I will see some of you in Williams. Are any of you shooting in the triple crown or just shooting for fun in Williams?

dave Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Well, I will be there again. I shoot the ABA triple crown for practice and dicipline, not too competitive. I am proud to say that I am not quite in last place yet. Every bowhunter needs to see how well he can shoot. It is good practice.
Traveler Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Always a great event. If I am back from vacation I will be there. My son is now big enough (8) to shoot fairly consistently so I am really excited to hit more shoots with him. Dan

We now have bedded elk, bedded sheep, wolves, a caribou, leopard, and even a jackalope! We have been working hard to make changes that our membership wanted and, are bringing in new vendors, some of which are Bowtech, Ben Pearson Archery, and Flagstaff Motorsports. We even have a new porta jon "specialist". If anyone has any questions, fire away.........

dave Report post Posted June 16, 2006 "You going to take all that junk off you bow and shoot what you hunt with!!! " Now BowNut, I saw that picture of your bow. What is that 3' long thing sticking out the front? Do you hunt with that? I guess if you run out of arrows you can just unscrew it and club the heck out of something with it
