lionhunter Report post Posted May 8, 2012 I am looking for a light weight set up for a youth hunter. The rifle does not have to be a "youth" rifle, but that would work also. Let me know what you might b wanting to part with. 7-08 is what I am thinking but let me know what you have. Thanks. Whitey

Whitey Saw a new marlin at sportsmans for $359, it was stainless in a 7mm-08 light wieght 22" barrel would make a nice youth rifle and they have pretty good review, good trigger etc.
azcouesandelk Report post Posted May 8, 2012 Look at the Remington 700 ADL with the length of pull extension. Lightweight and you can adjust as needed. I think we have them at Bass Pro for around $

Whitey I have a remmington 7mm-08 mountain rifle that has the action bedded barrel floated trigger down to 3#s and a 6-18x40 with turrets and mili dot swift. That was for my wife very light and has had the stock shortened a inch and a half with a simms deceleraror pad. My wife refuses to hunt with a gun so no need for me to keep it. Oh and I have like 80 or so hand loads done up for it. Shoot me a PM if your interested ill make you a good deal. Dom
