Elkhunter1 Report post Posted April 28, 2012 I wanted to showcase my latest box. Another member requested that I design and fabricate him a heavy duty security box for a very expensive camera. Have a look and tell me what you think. This box has 8 inches of welded hinges, and all welds are full felds (no spot welding). There is two locking points for most size locks and a chain around the tree, or you can use two ports for cable locking the camera it self along with the box to the tree.. You can pivot and tilt for good camera angles from any tree. You can use either a ratchet strap or lag bolts to mount the bracket.
Coach Report post Posted April 28, 2012 Man, that looks really good! I also like to build my own boxes. There's something about trying to figure out all the weak points and how to make it better - It's just fun, and gives you a certain confidence when you do leave it out that someone is going to have to really work if they want to take it. Kudos on a great box, with a lot of attention to detail.

Kudos on a great box, with a lot of attention to detail. Ya I stood there starring at the dimensions and the camera for about four hours before starting to draw it up. After starting the fabrication faze, I made changes no less than five times. When I thought I was in the home stretch my welder stopped working and deflated the momentum I had going. My welder had the power adjusting switch fail, after the necessary repairs, I was back in business. I also designed the tree bark pattern. I made three different stencils and sprayed the box in a four color coating. I love the challenge of taking an Idea someone has and creating what they envisioned. Thanks for your comments and I agree it is fun creating things.

NitroAZ Report post Posted May 21, 2012 Here is that box all set up, I couldn’t be happier with the functionality and construction. Security doesnt get any heavier duty than this.
